Our hopes for a concealed carry law were crushed by the Chicago vote.
It is a SHAME that a Chicago Gun hating thug can win only two countys in the state and still become Governor........makes me sick .....Illinois is DOOMED for a concealed carry law as long as Chicago is in charge....
 
Read that- You are so right. also read OLIN is moving to MS and taking 1000 jobs with them. I have to say goood for them, although I feel sorry for the working stiffs who did lose their jobs through no fault of their own. Too bad they can't wake up in C- :(
 
Don't hesitate to move to Texas. We love good conservative gun owners down here and we have some outstanding gun laws and shoot the bad guys law too.

A few years back, the wife and I took the Harley Ultra down to Belton, man, the humidity was way worst than Illinois, and I think it is bad:eek:

I wonder how many of those 1000 workers were Union members who voted the Party Line. If that is the case they have no one to blame but themselves.
 
I have too much invested to move out of Illinois.....I will just stay and fight.........still seems so wrong that I can carry in other states but soon as I am back in Illinois I would be concidered a felon.... Still say better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.....
 
I'm in Indiana, 3 miles from Illinois. 20 yrs. ago if I was caught in an Illinois town (not Chicago) with a gun I was possibly charged with a misdemeanor. Some LEOs would just empty the gun and hand it back. Now a first time offender in the same situation will be charged with a felony and be convicted and most likely be put on probation. If a family annolgy could be applied to Illinois, it's like Chicago is the worthless BIL that needs to borrow money all the time. I can't say for sure but my feeling is that Brady would have weeded out some of the political bloodsuckers that rule the state. Quinn is a useless pawn,just what Madigan wanted. Prepare for income and sales tax increases.

Just think, if 20,000 more people would of voted, or voted differently, we would not have Quinn as Governor.
 
I once got lucky in chicago. Around 1962 I stopped for dinner driveing through. I locked myself out of my car. There was a nearby motel so I thought I may as well spend the night there and hassel trying to hook the keys out the next morning when I could see better. The next morning if front of the crowded cafe and parking lot I am trying to hook the keys with a coat hanger and aint haveing any luck. Five or six people are watching and adviseing me, then one looks through the window and says, "Look at that big gun he`s got!" Sure enough, my revolver had slid forward from under my seat! I just said, yup, everything I own is in that car! I skated.

you will lose your FOID card and will never be able to own a gun again....least in Illinois thats how it is........I figure Quinn will be in
prison with Blago in less than 4 years and then we can watch Chicago
pick a new gov all over again........
 
And now we have Chicago politics on the National level.
 
Illinois is a one-city state and, as a friend pointed out, Chicago has become what New York City used to be.

I live in Ohio, but my mother lives in the Chicago suburbs, so at least once a year, I go there to visit her. Naturally I end up running errands all over Chicago, including picking up and dropping off relatives in places you probably wouldn't go WITH a gun.

There's really nothing good to be said for Chicago. The last thing was there were good places to eat, but now that virtually EVERY side street where you USED to be able to park for free is "permit only" parking, THAT has been ruined as well. Last year I had lunch downtown with my cousin at a nice Indian buffet. Parking was MORE than lunch.
 
We used to do Uno/Due pizza, right down town, they are a block from each other, but not any more.

Missouri voters turned down Prop B (CCW)-A lady in St. Louis, who had experienced two home invasions-said that she didn't want any "western style shoot outs" in her home. Easier to be a victim I guess. At the time car jackings occured all the time in the city.
BUT some time later-the state legislature pushed a CCW bill thru! Despite the governor. Car jackings are rare-Less concern about my wife traveling around the state. A couple years later we got rid of the "permit to transfer" scam.
There is hope for Illinois.

I've lived in Missouri. I spent four years in Fulton. The difference between Missouri and Illinois is like the difference between Junction City, Kansas and Madison, Wisconsin.

Chicago RUNS Illinois. Illinois isn't going to have legal concealed carry until Rahm Emmanuel wants it. Good luck with that...
 
Our local paper printed a map of IL after the election. All counties that carried Brady were in Red and those that carried Quinn were in Blue. You guessed it, only Cook County and St Clair county (East St Louis) and one other small county were Blue. The entire State was Red except those three. Yes, Chicago controls the entire state. We wish there was a way to separate them from the rest of the state.

It depends on what part of the state. I live halfway between El Paso and Fort Worth (300 miles either way) and at 1:00 p.m. today the temperature is 62 degrees and the humidity is 22%.
 
Chicago and surrounding suburbs is where the libs and deadbeats live. The aforementioned area represents the controlling voting block. West/upper/and southern Illinois is where the hard working blue collar people live. Chicagoans are Libs and the majority of them contribute nothing, except more entitlement dependents. In their place, gee, golly, gosh,....who would you vote for? The free ride or the possibility of welfare reform?
