I just found out to my horror that my peanut butter ranks LAST as far as health concerns, enviromental impacts of the company that produces it and the failure of societal concerns of the company that produces it. Apparantly it contains trans fat the company doesn't care about the enviromental damage caused in its manufacture and cares even less about the role their manufacturing footprint plays in our societs
No more Jif for this cajun!!!!!
Where does your peanut butter rank?

I use a major brand, named after a classic Disney movie character. Don't know anything about the company, I just like the peanut butter. Mix it with a little honey and a stack of saltines and I'm good.

Stick with what tastes good.
That "all natural" stuff smells like feet.
Leave the enviromental damage worries to the chinese.

Geez, cajun, I'm not sure I've got enough time left to worry
about much of anything but whether it tastes good!
Maybe, if I'd been brain-washed at a young enough age, it might
matter. I'll just keep eating the non-PC stuff. TACC1

My two rate at the bottom, I've never even heard of the other eight. I'm probably eating from the tastier part of the list.

We in Mississippi are always ranked at the bottom (whether we deserve it or not), so I guess I'll stick with Peter Pan and Jif.

That about does it! I worry about global warming, the energy crisis, the immigration problem, PTSD, vaccines causing illness, the deficit, a Congress w/ a 12% approval rating, racial injustice, no keeping score at little league games, no valedictorians at some school districts, artificial sweeteners, voting disparities, racial disparities, Agent Orange, white power, social security going away, black power, shedding Golden Retrievers, OOBs, bad tequila, no tequila, $3 gasoline, 16 mpg for my old truck, catalytic converters coming for string trimmers, oil spills, and, last but not least, that all people are going to die without gov't. health care and now you're telling me that I'm using the bottom peanut butter on the peanut butter list. Where does it end? Oh, the humanity!

I don't put that much thought into peanut butter. I don't even know what kind is in the cabinet.

I am thankful for a place to come where the weighty issues of the day are always thoughtfully on the table for in-depth analysis and discussion . . . . :D

Jif?
Jif?
You really ate Jif?
I am soooooooo disappointed.
I had expected you to have better taste (even though a cajun). :D

All discerning individuals know that Peter Pan Creamy was created on Mt. Olympus one day when they were out of ambrosia.

I like Natures Place All Natural (Crunchy). Ingredients: Peanuts and salt with 1 G of sugar - you need to stir it frequently as the (natural) oils separate - I don't like peanut butter that's made with artificial ingredients - peanuts and a pinch of salt is all you need - watch the label - if you see corn syrup solids, hydrogenated vegetable oils, etc, etc, put it back on the shelf.

Mrs. Chad buys Smart Balance Rich Roast Creamy. No trans fats, no hydrogenated oil, no refined sugar, not a lot of salt, high in omega-3... and it tastes OK.

$4.29 for a 26 oz jar.

The local store where I buy raw milk also has a peanut butter making machine. It is full of raw peanuts and all you do is push the button and hold a container under the spicket and out comes fresh pure peanut butter. We also make our butter from the cream off the raw milk. Can't be beat.

Jiff Extra Crunch, I don't care how many rain forests are burned or whales killed to make it.....
Anything that good can't be good for you anyway....

Any man that disparages another man's peanut butter choice will call his dog ugly-and that ain't right :(
But I DO use Helmans. ;)
