Well, here we go again. I will be going to the hospital @ 5:00am and get my 3rd pacemaker. Yes I said 3rd.

Medtronic has had some problems with the model I currently have. Some of the models ( like I have ) have stop working. My heart is 100% dependable on a pacemaker.

Medtronic will be furnishing me one free.

See ya after Friday, or at least I hope so.

Best of luck to you. My wife just got her second one. The first one was going along just fine until one weekend the battery decided to die, made for a rough weekend for her until it was replaced on a Tuesday. Luckily she is not pacer dependent.

My wife has had her pacemaker for about 6 months now. The episode leading up to her getting one was quite scary. While in the emergency room her heart would stop for as much as 2.5 seconds, then it would race up to 185 beats per second. It was alternating like that, up and then down, with the monitor alarm sounding and constantly being reset by the nurse. So now the pacemaker keeps the heart beating for nothing less than 60 beats per second and the medication keeps the heart from beating too fast. And when it goes into atrial fibrillation, blood clots are prevented by the coumadin she takes.

Modern medicine is great and hopefully Obama won't break it for good.

Have you considered the installation of a zipper?;)

Best of luck and hurry backkK!

Think I am now on my 4th or 5th Medtronic pace. Was victim of a recall also. They paid for the pacer but balked at paying the doctor and hospital bill to get it changed until I threatened them with a lawsuit. What did they think you are supposed to do, change it yourself? Have completely same symptoms to Lesmith's wife . Slow and rapid syndrome with Coumadin therapy but all is well now. Best wishes for rapid recovery.
