There's just something about the 1911......I have short ones--long ones--light ones and heavy ones..............Gripping a 1911 is like a handshake from an old friend.

... But this morning I noticed a gun with nice wood grips. As I back tracked to the case, someone was already looking at it. Fortunately, he didn't like the grips

The grips are not original to that 686. Back in 1983 those grips were available for purchase. Carded similar to the image I posted.
