... where are all the ticks? I live in a wooded lot at the end of a dirt road. Two years ago I had to change my clothes after mowing the lawn, constantly picked ticks off the dog and cat, took off my hunting coat and pants on the porch during deer season, and my wife was diagnosed with Lyme disease with a bullseye rash from planting flowers.
This past year, nothing, it's like they vanished. Is it like this everywhere?

im not seeing the ticks i expected either, the sheep and deer deserve a break anyway
there were some reports of ticks in late feb into march (snow ticks?)maybe they hatched a batch to early and froze before they could reproduce?

I haven't saw any this year and I hope it stays that way. A few years ago I walked around a 20 ac. field and got 12 off of me. They were terrible that year. I got a rash one year and had to take medicine and another time the bite got infected and then made a hard knot that finally disappeared after more medicine. They are nasty little varmints. Larry

You just have not brushed up against the right weed. My wife has had a bunch on her already this year when we were on the farm. She got one in town while working in the yard. Probably off a city slicker rabbit.

I've only had a few, I've always thought my wife was sweeter than me. Evidently the ticks think so too.

My daughter found one attached to my back the other day. I have gotten several off my dogs in spite of the medicine I put on them. It seems we will have plenty in Ky.:(

Took a short walk thru a thicket to help a buddy recover/track
a Coyote he hit just last weekend. Found 2 crawling on me after
getting back in my truck later. Come on down to Indiana. With the
wet spring and not too harsh winter we had we'll have plenty
this summer.

I will agree on the "plenty in Kentucky" I've pulled two off of the dog, he stays in the yard, and one off of me. The ground did not freeze this winter so the bug population will be bad.

More than normal in central Ohio this year, probably due to the abundance of spring rains.

My wife says they are all over in SW OK, but my daughter and her scout crew didn't see any on their campout last weekend in NE OK. I had "the fever" when I was a kid, so I try to stay away from them when I can.

Been picking them off our dogs here in NE GA for weeks now despite all the medication. The vet has warned us that this is going to be a bad year and so far that has been true.

I was surprised to see folks way up north talking about this. Like Peyton, I heard that here in Texas, they were being controlled by fire ants. I've noticed a great decline in chiggers, too.

I pull ticks off of myself and the dog almost every day here in the Florida woods.

"Permanone" & "Permethrin" are your friends during tick season. Spray your clothes and outdoor gear down with either of these products and let dry before using and you won't be bothered by ticks or any other blood sucking insects.:D

I absolutely hate ticks...I've had tick fever before and had to take a regimen of antibiotics to get rid of it.
