Just got my letter about this today. Many of you probably did too. If not, it's probably on the way.
I hadn't realized this, but it is very important. The letter states the following:
"please remember that by law, only the contributions you make to NRA-PVF - not your NRA membership dues or any other contribution you make to NRA - can be used to directly support or oppose candidates for office."
As of March 31, 2014, the NRA must submit the NRA-PFV financial report to the Federal Election Commission. It is quite important to contribute now so that potential anti-gun candidates will know that if they run with gun control as part of their platform, the NRA will fight their candidacy and will work to end their political career.
Please join the NRA now if you're not a member, and please remember to make a separate substantial contribution to the NRA - Political Victory Fund. It is more important now than it has ever been.
