I can tell you from my own experience that the OOW 1918A3 SLR is the most fun you can have with a firearm even without a happy switch. If I could do it over I'd have bought two.

You're right. The Tavor 16 is impractical. What you really need is the 18" barreled one.

My LGS has an original Trapdoor Springfield Carbine, .45-70, refinished and beautiful, w/ shiny bore, for $700. I have no earthly use for one, I'd have to start loading .45-70 again, it'd just be a toy, and I want it really bad.

I had a broomhandle made circa 1925-6 for a few years, never shot it though because the bore was toast. It made a cool conversation piece. I also had a Ruger
#1 in .375 H&H for about 4 months, and probably shot it 300 times in that amount of time. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of fun to let your buddies shoot. Especially the ones who'd never fired anything bigger than a .308.

Still want that original post-1957 Model 21 .44Spl, the one that S&W made only 5 1/2 of. My modern 21-4, while a great revolver, still does not have that 1950s cachet to it.

Remington 1100 in a 14" SBS configuration "with" chokes so it would still be somewhat practical for hunting as well as SD.
