I bought this gun and rig in 1973.
The revolver is a Ruger Old Model Blackhawk in .45 Colt.
The rig is a Bianchi River Belt. The holster is a Bianchi #1.
Did they maybe call it the "Lawman" model?
I can't quite wear the belt. As I posted last year, I lost about
75 lbs on a high protein, low-sugar/carbs diet. I gained about
15 pounds back over T-giving, Christmas, and when my Mama
died in March and everyone was bringing so much good food. I
have pretty well contained the weight gain over the summer.
Got back on the diet and dropped nearly 7 pounds in 10 days.
I couldn't find the belt when I was at my best weight loss. Found
it last week, and that made me get back on the right road. Hope
to be wearing the belt in a month or six weeks.
This is one of my all-time favorite guns. It got me started
reloading, because I couldn't afford .45 Colt ammo even in 1973.
I killed a few deer with it, mostly does and wounded deer we
tracked with a dog. I haven't fired it in probably 10 years. I
intend to remedy that situation in a few hours.
