Indiana's permitless carry kicks in at midnight tonight

Something to feel good about for a change. And i boldly predict no surge of gunfights on the streets. Except maybe Gary, IN but that is a world unto itself and ongoing.

Gary is a couple miles from me and everybody there has a gun regardless of their eligibility for a carry license. I'm wondering if the idiots that have moved here from Chicago realize that they're not Indiana residents just because they rent here. Most of them are like vagabond Gypsie's that maintain a residence on paper in Illinois. I'm curious what happens if Indiana PD stops someone with Illinois plates and has an Illinois DL and is carrying a gun without an Illinois carry permit.

I just did a cursory read of Indiana's statute, but it seems as though it's like most permitless carry laws. You don't have to be a resident of the state to carry without a permit. You don't have to be a Missouri resident to carry concealed in Missouri . . .

Edit: If you're sleeping in Indiana, you're an Indiana resident, regardless of whether you own or rent.
