Info needed on .32 top break

Hello to all, I have a SW .32 CTG revolver, it is a top break model, blue finish with black grips. The SN is 248713 and this number is stamped on the cylinder, top frame and butt of hand grip. I have no idea the year model on the pistol. The pistol seems to be tight and shows little wear but unfortunatley the barrel has a swell in the middle, I presume from being shot with an obstruction in the barrel and therfore making it unsafe to fire. Are there replacement parts still available? Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum. Your 32 Double Action, 4th Model was shipped from the factory somewhere after 1900 and before 1910. With that serial number, your revolver would be classified as modern by the ATF and would be subject to any registration and sale laws of your state and Federal government. Any 32 DA made before sn 209,301 is an antique.

It sounds like a stuck bullet with another one sent down the barrel. Given these revlovers are over 100 years old, there are quite a few out there with that problem. David Chicoine has barrels for the 32 DA, so check this link out.

Thank you for the reply and info and link. I do have a couple more questions. Would the gun be more valuable unrepaired with matching sn's or repaired? Also, is ammo still available for this pistol? I have 5 old rounds that where in the gun but not sure I would want to fire them, presuming I get the pistol repaired and it is in servicable condition of course.
