Info needed

I have a 3" revolver in .32 S&W Long. It is a 6 shot with serial # B 19xxx. When was it made and what model is it? Value? I obtained this gun from a person who has owned it since 1948. The pistol is in like new condition with the original grips - has been shot very little.

We need more info
With a B prefix it does not sound like a S&W revolver.

Give us the full markings on the barrel and post a picture

This is like saying "I have a car with a V-8 engine and whitewall tires in nice condition. What is it worth?"

Welcome to the Forum.

Like M-1911 said, we need more info. The serial number for a Smith & Wesson revolver is on the butt. Some of the older Smiths also had matching numbers under the barrel and on the rear of the cylinder.

OK, I checked the pistol and the serial number is 319xxx - don't know where the "B" came from on the paper work. The left side is marked in block letters on the the barrel "Smith & Wesson. The S&W logo is located below the cylinder release. ON the right side of the barrel is "32 Long CTG". Ther also are 4 screws in the side plate. I will send photos today.

Also, the serial number is on the trigger side of the grip frame.
