Info on 629-6 Ranger 1 of 300?

I just bought this for $635 today; the double action trigger is super smooth, like a PC trigger and the barrel says "Ranger 1 of 300"

I know it is not some desirable collector piece, but I would like to know a little more about it.

Having trouble uploading pics... it needs a good detailing anyway.

i have one just like it & like you say it has a execllent d.a. trigger.had mine about 5 years & gave about 700 for it.bought it at a gun show & seller said they went through p.c. shop, dont know if it is sells hype or not but the trigger is better than my 629 no dash & better than my p.c. 27-8.all 6 chambers on mine were .429.i really like mine.

Gart brothers

I was told these were a limited run for Gart Brothers, I picked one up off one of the auction sites for around 475.00 shipped ( seller listed it as s &W 44) . Mine shoots great and I love the revolver , if any onehas more info I would love to hear about it !
