I was wondering if anyone had any information on a special run of the 60-9, in .357? It has a full lugged 3" barrel and a frosted stainless finish. It even says "special" on the box. Any idea how many were made and any other information would be cool. Thanks.

My 60-9 is a snubbie, the 3" er was the dash 10.They had both in the store when I bought my -9.

you need to provide the production # on the end of the box. I suspect that you have either a Lew Horton or Camfour special order gun. There is a third major distributor for special order guns, but I don't recall the name.

You're probably right. The product code is 102431 and on the end of the box (that it took me awhile to dig out),next to the product code and serial number (CCE62**) under the heading "Spec Ord" is a 0300.

I bought it quite a few years ago and have never seen another one. I was just curious if anyone had any more details on it.

L-Frame,

I dont know how many were made but you do have a nice gun. I looked long and far for a 60-9 because it is the first .357 magnum in a J-Frame before S&W put the silly locking device on (around 2001).

Mine is a 2", but I have never seen a 3", even on gunbroker. I would hang on to that one!

As far as I can tell from the numbers that you supplied, your gun was part of a run from 1996 to 99, with your gun being from 1997. The special order # relates to the distributor and only S&W can answer that. I would say that you have a really nice piece and a future collectible

Here are my 60-9's. All are 2" barreld. Bought them in 1997. The top right is factory magna-ported.
Great little 357.
A 3" 357mag model 60 I've never seen around here. But good to know they are exist. So I'll keep my eyes open, maybe some day one of those 3" snubbies will show up.

I would like to add my 60-10 that is a 3 inch, .357. I wish I could provide a 60-9.

By the way---the serial number on the 60-10 no-lock is COM3438 and I got it at a gun show without a box. I do not know the date but it does have adjustable sights.

I found one ! I have to wait a few weeks before I can I receive it. I will give you more pictures.

The sights are fixed.
The new front sight is in optic fiber, but I will have the original one (black ramped like the standard model).
