I have 3 boxes of grizzly 45-70 GOVERNMENT 405gr RNFP Cowboy and can’t find much information on there website was told that this round was black powder just wanted to see if anyone one here new anything about it it’s 1000fps so I’m guessing it’s Subsonic Ammo? Going to be running it in a Ruger marlin 1895

an 1895 will certainly handle it. Im not sure about the black powder part, but the main appeal of the 45-70 is it's ability to make a very effective load using cast lead bullets. It's excelled at this since it's birth while doing an admirable job of stepping into the modern era.
If it's a BP load, Im sure you'll figure that out in very short order, Clean your rifle very well and save your brass to be born again.

It most likely means it's equivalent to old BP loading of years ago. It certainly doesn't use BP! By no way will it 'injure' a Marlin!

Cowboy ammo is general a light loading. I also highly doubt it will harm your Marlin or any other gun including a Trapdoor.

Unless the box specifically states it is Black Powder, I would think it's smokeless powder. 1,000 fps (a light "Cowboy Load") is even below the starting load as per Hodgdon's reloading data for the 405 grain LFN bullet. Don't know much about Grizzly ammo as I've never shot any.
