Information on ancient_one

Carol, thank you so much for the update. That's very sad news indeed. There aren't many members of the Greatest Generation left, and it's distressing to know that he may be leaving us. When Graydon was based at North Island Naval Air Station at the end of WW II, I was living a few miles away going through my terrible twos. I've often wondered if Mom and I ever passed him on the street in downtown San Diego. His posts always have been enjoyable and informative, and I have hoped if I reach my 90s I would be half as sharp as he is.

My best wishes for a peaceful transition. He'll have a lot shipmates waiting to greet him on the other side.

This hits very close to home having recently had a sudden and unexpected death in the family. You and your family have our deepest sympathies. I expect many of us here hope to do as well as your father is doing.

We never had any direct contact but I always considered him to be one of the more reasoned and respected contributors here. Please take comfort in knowing he is someone who will genuinely be missed. May his transition be easy and his homecoming grand.

Psalm 56:10-13

Thank you Carol.
Graydon is part of our family here. His sincere interest in the welfare of everyone here is evident in his post to the forum and likewise we care for him immensely. Let him know of our love and concern. When one of us was sick, he would always be the first to as how we were doing and ask for updates.
Prayers from my corner for Graydon, you and all his family.
