Information on Old Revolver Please

My gun also has a small lanyard ring near the rear of the butt so as to not cover any of the serial number. Must have been added later as it doesn't look like the factory installation as in the Victory models. Maybe a prison guard gun as there is no dept. stamping to indicate police usage.
