Instant coffee?

I have had one instant coffee that is good enough to drink, and that I like as much as any K-cup coffee I've had. I don't shop for it, so I don't know if it exists in the USA, but it's the only coffee most Swiss households I've been in serve. Nescafé Gold De Luxe.

It'a available on Amazon and eBay.

I find that hard to believe. Have you ever made him a cup with the Kurig? If he has tasted that and still prefers the instant he might have defective taste buds?
I'm not sure why I would lie to you about it, so I don't understand why you don't believe it.

When I was growing up instant was all we had in the house. My mom and dad both loved it. Wanting to be like him, I loved it too. Then I joined the Navy and tried real coffee. Never went back to instant.

For the most part, I've never met an instant coffee that I liked.
That being said.......cappuccino flavored K-cups for my single serve on the other hand...........some of those are made with instant coffee and most of them are pretty good. It's probably to do with the fact that they're flavored and not just black coffee.

I had to drink some instant carp last week when we visited my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas. It was some kind of Folgers instant and all I can say about it was that if you put enough sweetener and creamer in it you could swill it down.

I usually drink either Community Dark Roast or Folgers Black Silk, but splurged this afternoon and brewed up a french press of some Peaberry Kona med/dark roast I bought last month. It's expensive stuff but worth it in my opinion.

My Dad was a truck driver and drank instant coffee. SANKA! YUCK! I always thought I hated coffee till I grew up and actually had real coffee in the military.

I drink Folgers instant and it's OK. Not all brewed coffee is that great. They have some Nescafe brew coffee at work that is pretty nasty.

Not an instant fan, but Cafe' Bustello instant is great. It will make coffee cold water. We sent it to the sand box in care packs for that very reason. As such, it is good to cook with-a little in beans richens it up-chili too, and I like the end of a teaspoon of it in vanilla pudding-mocha!

I have a jar of instant in the cupboard. I only drink a cup on rare occasions when I don't have time to brew any. I use it mostly to flavor protein shakes. I mix in about teaspoon worth in in vanilla or chocolate. Makes a vanilla latte or mocha flavored protein shake.

The Taster's Choice coffee tubes are tolerable if the electricity is off.

Instant coffee really has come a long way, thank heaven, but it's a lasrt resort, an emergency item.

I’m the odd one I guess. I drink Folger’s instant everyday. I make mine in a 20 ounce yeti cup and put the coffee and powder creamer in an empty cup for the wife to make when she gets up. We have a Kureg for afternoon coffee and will brew a regular pot if we have company.

I have to admit that I am not a coffee "common sewer." Unadulterated coffee all tastes the same to me and it smells like skunk.

Therefore, and because I'm lazy, I DO drink a cup of instant coffee each morning. It does kick start me, and everyone says coffee is now good for you. However, it's made to the following recipe so that I can stand to drink it:

1. I fill a cup about half full of water, and heat it for a minute and 10 seconds in the microwave.

2. I add a heaping teaspoonful of instant coffee to the water, and while stirring it, add a teaspoonful of sugar.

3. I then add about 1/4 of a cup of milk.

4. And then, I add the crowning touch - about 1/4 cup of Bailey's original Irish Cream. Stir it, taste it to be sure it doesn't taste like coffee any more, and then watch the morning news. I prefer Fox News.

My late MIL liked these coffee bags. We kept them in our RV, cause she was the only one that went with us that drank coffee. My Mom and Dad also use them when they only need a single cup.

My introduction to American brewed coffee several decades back was standard restaurant fare from the warmer plate. Coming from Central Europe, that was like ... well, you know Monty Python’s joke about making love in a canoe? So living more or less on the go in those years, I fell back on instant, and over the years I developed a taste for Folger’s Instant that I have retained and still cultivate these days. Living by myself, it’s convenient. And I still dislike brewed coffee off the warmer plate.

Instant and brewed coffee are two different beverages.

You can come to like both if you don’t compare them to one another.

Compare instant coffees with instant coffee and brewed coffee with brewed coffee.
Bingo! :D We have a winner. :) That's the correct way to look at it. Don't expect instant to taste exactly like brewed or vice versa. Each has their place. Yes, I'll take brewed first, but only if it is fresh. Stale or reheated brewed coffee? No thanks. I'd rather have some instant made instantly! :)

My sister passed away a few years ago,, but, before that,, EVERYONE LOVED her coffee.

She would never tell anyone why her drip coffee was liked by everyone,,

Then,, one day, I happened to see her make a pot of coffee.

She added the regular coffee to the filter, then,,,
she put one tablespoon of instant coffee on top of the grounds.

That was her trick,, everyone raved about her coffee,,,,

So, maybe it isn't either/or when it comes to regular/instant coffee,,,
maybe the answer is,,,, BOTH!! :D
