Intelligence vs. Wisdom

Intelligence is to know the answer to "Does this make my butt look big?".
Wisdom is working around the answer.

Your butt looks the same but the clothes seem to have shrunk a lot.
Wisdom is to put the attention on something else.

I do believe testing for intelligence should be changed because I have known people that supposedly have a high IQ but they seemed to be quite stupid. Common sense obviously has nothing to do with a persons IQ.

Tell me this, who decided that beans found in an animals feces might make good tasting coffee?

Intelligence is discussing precisely how much larger her rear end actually is; wisdom is always pleasantly pretending that you do not notice.

If you do not make mistakes, that is stagnation, not wisdom. You have to be mentally adventurous to acquire wisdom. The acquisition and application of information/knowledge will get you down the road on that journey.

Intelligence is great, but worthless if you don't have a clue about how to use it. ;)

I am getting into this discussion "late in the Game" but it made me wonder what prompted the first person, to try " Fixin' " Mountain Oysters?

Chubbo

Down in South Alabama, two guys, both Alabama fans, are digging a ditch, sweat pouring off of both of them. Bubba turned to Foy and said "How come we are down here, doing all of the work and the foreman is up there in a clean shirt and making more money than both of us together?"

Foy said "I don't know. Why don't you ask him?" Bubba climbed out of the ditch, walked up to the foreman, an Auburn grad, and asked "Boss man, me and Foy are the ones actually digging this ditch, but yet, you're standing under this shade tree and your payday is more than mine and Foy's put together. How come?"

The foreman put his hand on the shade tree and said "Bubba, take your shovel and hit my hand just as hard as you can." Bubba grinned and swung that shovel as hard as he could. The foreman pulled his hand out of the way just in time. Bubba almost jarred his teeth loose when the shovel hit the tree. The foreman said "Bubba, I'm the foreman because I have intelligence."

Bubba went back down in the ditch and said "Foy, I'm going to be the next foreman on this job 'cause I've got intelligence." Foy stared at him and said "What's intelligence?" Bubba grinned, held his hand over his face and said "Take your shovel and hit my hand just as hard as you can." :D

A quote from Will (oops) Rogers:

"There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading (intelligence). The few who learn by observation (wisdom). The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves." - Will Rogers

I am fortunate enough to have been tested for a 149 IQ .An abundance of street smarts. But book stupid...go figure a C -D student my whole life.

I had to take an IQ test for a job. The test was timed. I asked the administrator if you get penalized for the questions you get wrong or credit only for those you answer correctly. He paused and answered that you get credit for those questions you get right. I saved 30 seconds on my watch and answered every question on that test. I upped my IQ, beat an intelligence test and was offered the job all by asking one question.

Great! You have...

...wisdom as well as intelligence on your side.:)

Same..

Even if you have a higher IQ there are other factors that enable good grades. I was pretty crappy until I got to my second time around in college. Good study habits, degree of motivation, abiiity to focus. Your talents and interest can lie elsewhere, family life and about a billion other factors are all part of it.
