INTERNET SNUBBY MATCH

Not better luck after all - only 8 out of 10 on paper... BAH HUMBUG !!!! :o
I know the feeling. I tried a total of 15 shots last weekend. First ten I only had 8 on the paper.

I never even took a picture of the target. Decided to stroke my bruised ego with blasting the target 30/30 times with my Ruger Single Ten .22lr with a 5.5" barrel. Man I really showed that target!

I'm looking forward to September's contest.

Rick a is the winner with 2 1/4". Please PM me your real mail address for your prize of 25 Internet snubby match targets.

This month its seven yards, rip em off as fast as you can holding a group.
Two hands, no rest. Off (other) hand for bonus points.

Still goes by group size. 10 shot groups.

I shot the group on the top left handed. Bottom right handed which I am. I think I concentrated on the trigger more left handed.

My FIRST entry. 3 7/8"

Why off hand double, of course!

Next month, me thinks. I'm recovering from a month of free range time...

OK, for October its 25 yards offhand double action.

Lets see September 7 yard targets first.

David

I may enter again today. No 3 7/8" is going to win this month.

You're making too many rules. If I have my Model 60 I am not likely to ever shoot double-action at 25-yards. That's not being realistic. :)

I have been following this. It intrigues me and I will give it a try using your original rules but I don't expect to be posting any results. :D

Holy cow! Some of you folks are pretty fair hands with your little guns.

So shoot Sept. 7 yards. Right hand and left hand.

The rules change every month. The idea is to get to know your gun and have fun.

Enter early. Enter often.

UMMM, I'm confused. Is this one 10 shot group, half with the right hand & half with the left hand? Or two ten shot groups, one with each hand?

I shot 2 groups. One strong hand, one weak hand, 10 shots each. I used a 2 hand hold because I probably would in a SD situation.

I have used up almost the box of 50 380 rounds. I have one more target to shoot probably left handed, maybe with a glove on. Those are SD ammo and beat the **** outa me shooting that gun. My first shot left handed I had my right thumb behind the slide. Ouch! Next shot I locked my thumbs together and pointed them down range.

Next its time to get out the 5 shot S&W revolvers.
For you folks that shoot the match and don't post targets, go ahead and post them please.

Anyone that shoots the match wins. Practice with your snubby. Its always good!

Thanks for clearing that up. I agree, practice is a good thing.

I'll be getting back to these matches this weekend. Work has been in the way for most of the summer and it's time to give it a rest and get out to the range for some much needed stress relief and practice!!
Besides, I'm a firm believer in practicing shooting with both strong and weak hands and always try to end my day at the range with shooting at least one magazine or cylinder with my weak hand so this is going to be right up my alley.

Wow, where have a been? I'm just seeing this thread for the first time. Can't get to the range this weekend but will next weekend and shoot some targets. GOTTA GET READY ANYWAY FOR DEER SEASON (I shoot my 6" Model 29 in deer season).

Looks like fun. In the meantime, I'll post a photo of my Model 36 snubby I initially got my wife (she didn't like it). After I shot it I knew it was a keeper.

First target from the old flat latch, 148gn. wadcutters @ 10 yds, standing unsupported. Hopefully I've still "got it." This looks like fun!

PS: My homemade targets are black squares, with 1" for every 10 yards. It makes a perfect sight picture for handguns over iron sights! Thus, these are exactly 1" squares. My 25 yard versions are thus 2 1/2" squares. Try that type, and it will give you a great sight picture resting the blades at the base of the squares!

September match

7 yards off hand left hand and right.

10 shot group.

Well, ****!

I got to the range today, and was proud as hell about this one... but I should have read the rules again. Specifically "Left AND Right".

Below was my left - as I'm a southpaw.

I forgot the opposite hand. I'll get back by there in a couple weeks... Never tried that before... hope I get it on the cardboard. :D

OK, I get 2 5/8" group. YOU measure it and report back.

You were not supposed to tell us yer a lefty. Just shoot the target and report which hand it was shot with. :D

I will be trying this again with a 36 next trip to the range. I shot the last targets in my back yard. Once a week is enough.

Harley fan, I see you have a 45. Want to start a match?

Does a 3" officers model count as a snubby?
