Interpret this: "Crash induced unrest.."

You need some sardines, hot sauce, potted meat, and maybe another brick of Golden Bullets before I'd consider you well prepared.;)

You're correct, howevah I doubt if I'll survive long if it goes down in the Fall of the year.

Some yea-hoo will take me out for my abundant supply of Hickory nuts & tree rats...

Years ago I stumbled over the old Lewis Sinclair book from the 1930s, "It Can't Happen Here". It's dated as to specifics but the dynamics are right on.

You can quibble endlessly about the probabilities--but only a fool rules stuff out because he doesn't want to think about it at all. As the monograph puts it--"a failure of imagination".

Hegel once chacterized history as a butcher's block. He had a point.

Could be, but hope not. Hey cmort- I'm a buckeye too. Lyndhurst to Willoughby to Euclid to Youngstown. Got moved in 1981 (the carter crash). My stepmother lives in Bay Village.
I've been here since I moved from Apartheid Chicago in '86, first Berea, then Fremont (gag!), now Rocky River. You damned near can't BUY a job here, but I'd rather be homeless in Ohio than in a mansion in Illinois.

Somehow, I keep totally without intent, picking places to live with limited access and great fields of fire! I've already talked to my friends about what to do if things go REALLY wrong. I'll provide the protection if they provide the resources.

True, but read the endless hypothesizing.

could lead to ...... could trigger ...... may become .... remains a possibility .... which could be provoked ...... might include ...... if they are prolonged ..... can loosen ....
can spill out ....... this could happen .... there could be ....... could lead to .....

It's purely speculative. The American armed forces are constantly playing every imaginable hypothetical scenario. They've even got a scenario in the event of an alien invasion from outer space.

This particular scenario just happened to hit the internet.

Doesn't make it probable. Possible? Possibly. But not probable.

Many people I know feel hopeful that we can turn things around in 2010. I feel that way too. I just hope we can hold out that long. If there is an event that pushes this country over the edge it will be caused by the left on purpose. Remember "mark my words" Biden. If something happens it's just part of their plan. I just hope we don't play into their hand.

I live in a relatively low crime atmosphere where armed robbery was all but unheard of until about five months ago give or take a month. In that time period, armed robbery, mostly of drug stores, has become almost a weekly occurence. The marked increase is astonishing.

Who here could actually survive a longterm shutdown of gov't, utilities, loss of fuel sources, end of food supply chain, etc...?

Xfuzz,

I hear ya'... I could hold out for a good long while. But what worries me are the folks that can't. When they figure out that the Gov't isn't gonna fix things for them...that's when they are gonna take a long look around...and plan to take somebody else's resources. Damn few homes are defensible positions....
