Intro and exploded views

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to S&W collecting and just joined the forum after buying a model 66 no dash. I've always been fascinated by revolvers but have never really been a serious shooter. I'd like to learn everything I can about this beautiful gun's action, but the exploded views I've found online appear to be crude bitmaps and are practically unreadable because of the pixelation. So far my search here has not come up with anything either. Can anyone lead me to a nice CLEAR online exploded view of this revolve or any resourses about disassembly?

An exploded view is not an accurate guide for disassembly. There are a few "tricks" you'll need to know that will keep you from messing up your revolver. Check out the FAQ's. Read them all. There is also a book written by a gentleman named Jerry Kuhnhausen that may help you. Welcome.
