Hello to all! My name is Justin, but I go by my nickname more than my real name. My nickname is pappasmurf, but you guys can call me smurf for short.
I am NOT new to weapons, As I have a 9mm handgun and have already had a .22 caliber rifle, it was a GSG-522. I am now looking into getting the mp 15-22 as my new toy from taxes. I want it to resemble my M4 carbine from the military but would love to hear members suggestions for what to look for and stay away from.
From what I have read on this forum and what I can remember from falling in love with the 15-22 at the store was that it has the a2 flash hider and also I believe the barrel that resembles the barrel off an M16 a2.
I do plan on buying a threaded short barrel shroud and also a threaded long barrel fake suppressor. It just looks badass. Also I plan on getting some good optics (any suggestions welcome) along with a red dot sight for quicker acquisition. I would LOVE to have them coexist but not sure what works well with one another.

Well I am off to lurking in the shadows...lol

Thanks sophie! Where in texas? I used to live in forth worth and my best friend lives in saginaw.

Nope, plan on doing it all black on black with some different color accents; but trust me, my targets will be cold AND blue when I get through with em. LMAO

smurfs aint baby blue, they are smurf blue. Its kinda like a baby blue and a regular blue mixed. Now that you said that what about a red mp and blue upgrades?

Welcome aboard the good ship M&P Tacticool 15/22, will post a picture when I get home.. You will love the M&P 15/22 since you can mimic your full size AR15, and save money on ammo while doing it.

ever wonder what color smurfs turn when they hold their breath...lol welcome aboard smurf prepair your self to become addicted your will find your self gettin all sorts of goodies, happy shooting enjoy your new toy when you get it,

tacticaledge,
Thank you for the welcome but didnt you mean; what color do smurfs turn when you choke em? My answer has always been Stainless steel silver! Cause thats exactly the last thing anyone trying to choke me will see. Now that I think about it, it might be the orange flash. LOL
I am already planning on dropping about 1000 to 1500 bucks into my new "toy."

Welcome aboard from St. Louis! I agree gentlemen, I too would not choke a smurf that was carrying a gun. Especially if it were a 15-22, I mean, I still wouldn't with something chrome and boomier but you know what I mean. I would how ever say to him, "Hey! I'll show you mine if you show me yours" keeping that in mind, "and not other more inappropriate things," post pics of your new baby/addiction, and that's a good idea by the way tact! ;) As soon as I get my ejection port cover I'll show ya'll something real nice and fancy like! Maybe a special sneak preview if anyone is dying to see her, but again, welcome and get ready for a blast! Pun completely intended :)

Welcome and I too had hand guns and just recently purchased the 15-22.
I already have added a RDS, Scope, and Laser and find shooting it with each, iron sights, then RDS, take it off and put the scope on, then the laser, it is a different gun each time.
It gives me confidence each time to graduate to an AR in the future.

Welcome aboard!

Just one word of caution. The M&P 15-22 can lead to an intense desire to own a 5.56 M&P 15. :)
