Absent Comrade
Have you ever noticed that if you have throw rugs on a smooth wood floor they always eventualy slide to the north?
Since we have Honey Boo-boo, Swamp people, Duck Dynasty, Gypsies, some trailer park, and numerous other shows on all the time I'm not surprised. How many of those shows portray Southerners in a positive role?
The south is horrible. Please stay away.
The old Double-wide vs. Single-wide debate rages on in the trailer park.

Hey, we have Andrew Cuomo, Mike Bloomberg, The Sopranos, and Jersey Shore and New York City which you can smell before you can see. You want to compare role models?
I'm a dark skinned, American Indian, disabled factory worker and my wife's a white Italian and works as a home health care aid. Nothing fancy, just honest work. When we tell people we're from West Virginia, they look at us and say, "you don't look like brother and sister."
Kinda the same here in New York. I live up here in the mountains so pretty much anyone who doesn't know this state thinks we all live in New York City, and the folks in New York City think I am some sort of rube or primate because I live in the country.
Go to a county fair sometimes, it isn't just trailers that come in double and single wide.
Where I live, we look down our noses at the people in the northeast; especially around Washington D.C.
The closer you get to D.C., the more you find this affliction. People who live in metro D.C. have a tendency to think that the world revolves around that marble lined sewer, and that nothing really happens outside of that rat hole; when the exact opposite is the truth.
Get a map. Find northern, middle Tennessee. You'll see that Washington D.C. is well north and east of here; hence "the northeast".I hate to burst your bubble, but DC isn't the Northeast. It's well south of the Mason Dixon line. The location of DC was picked to be in the middle of the then existing United States.

I don't mind you snowbirds moving down here to Texas, looking for freedom, I'm just trying to get some of these darn Aggies to move up north!
