Sometime a while back I purchased a 629-1 3" Combat Magnum with product code 103610 and a ANC7xxx serial number. I wrote away to S&W and got a letter of provenance as I had read much about Lew Horton product code revolvers that had not been distributed through Lew Horton. Well, here is an example of one. What I found interesting is that it states in the letter that this revolver was from the 1st order for the 3" barrel length.

Enjoy.

I have a LH with ANCxxxx serial number, thought all ANCxxxx numbers are LH. Don't have my book nearby but I vote yes. Or maybe not, lol.

No factory letter on my 629-1 but the ser. # is ANC69XX. Supposedly making it earlier than yours. If I understand your letter correctly we both have pre LH 3". Interesting.
Oops, ladder13 may dispute the factory letter. Now Very interesting.:D

Randy, I was just thought that I read all ANC's were LH's. Apparently not so. Btw, mine is ANC 5535, so earlier than the OP's.

Edited: Nevermind, the book says 8,000 were manufactured between 86-87 with RB and 3 inch, distributed by LK ans S&W. Nothing about ANC.

Product code 103610 shows an unfluted barrel, finger groove stocks, and round butt. 5,000 made. Not verified.
