is lead from reciaimed .22 LR suitable for CF recasting?

It would be okay to mix with wheel weights and linotype.

I believe that is some of the advice you have read through this thread. I thought the original question was if it was OK to shoot the 22 lead as is. Most agree - again it is your call - that it would be OK as long as you are not pushing it hard and fast and you have a good fit for the bullet and barrel. I think Powder Coating helps although I used 45-45-10 for years and never a problem as well. The PC just cuts down on the smoke.

I keep all my lead separate and labeled. I have hard, range and soft lead as I identify them. I don't pour bullets with soft lead alone but I probably would if that is all I had. I mix my hard, range and soft lead together and I would claim to be consistent. All I know is I do not have leading problems and my bullets are accurate which is always my goal. Put some harder lead, wheel weights, etc. with your 22 scrap and you will be fine.

Again, as always, I am no expert and your mileage may vary.

Here's my test for pistol lead - If I can scratch it with my thumbnail, it's too soft, if I can't it will work fine. I use a lot of outdoor range scrap and have never had to blend it with anything for 9mm, 40 s&w, 45acp, 38 spec, or 45-70 gov.

Different alloy mixes will result in different bullet diameters.

The molds I have used cast true diameters when I sort out the Clip On Wheel Weights, and only use those.

The stick on weights are too soft, the zinc weights make the alloy melt at too high of a temp.
The steel weights? well, hopefully, you do not melt those!!

I sorted about 1/3 of a bucket of COWW's on Tuesday, That sorting took an hour.

The ingots that resulted seem to be perfect hardness,,

I cast about 50 bullets that day, I am waiting a week before I PC them,,
to see if the alloy gets harder with time, as I have read,,
