Hey all,

Wondering if anyone knows if S&W is still making .357 barrels? I just got a M&P40c and might want to drop in a conversion barrel. I know Storm Lake makes them but they are twice the price of a factory barrel. I will buy a Storm Lake barrel if I have to, but looking to save a few bucks if I can with a factory barrel.

I emailed them about another barrel issue. The response was they are still making barrels but there could be a short wait for them to ship due to other orders.

A short wait? I've had a .357 sig barrel for an M&P40c on order from them since 01/02/2013. That's not an exaggeration. I've called a couple of times and it will ship whenever it is in stock.

Speed shooters supply just had here in stock. I was luck enough to get one. Now to find ammo.

My LGS/Shooting Range has scads of .357 Sig ammo in stock and no .357 Magnum! Go figure.

Revolver ammo is lower priority for manufacturers; auto pistol ammo in service calibers is easy to come by if they run the line longer because cops use those rounds. It took months to get my case lot order of .357 magnum for that reason; it simply was not being made. (This was before Newtown.)

IIRC, Smith is no longer making M&Ps in .357Sig, so those barrels are low priority, especially when they are selling almost M&P they make before it is off the line.

Yes it is. Have them notify you when they come in stock. I know the price is a little high but I haven't found them anywhere else in stock, so it was worth spending a few dollars more for it.
