Is the .40 dead ? Let's see some !

My 1991 4006. Nice shooter and easier to handle after I replaced the the Hogue grips that were on it with factory S&W.
I also replaced the factory Novak sights with a set of Trijicon Bright & Tough Night Sights which unfortunately they've since discontinued.

I have 2 40’s and will probably pick up a few more if the deal comes my way. The Glock 27 is one I carry occasionally and is a great pistol. I also have a wolf barrel for it in 9mm. The S&W 4043 is one I picked up at a great price that came with 5 S&W mags. I know some people complain about how snappy the 40 is. The 4043 being an all metal pistol makes it very comfortable to shoot.

That's not a Glock...

I picked up an unissued in box California Highway Patrol 4006 trade in. on the cheap I was skeptical of 40 and stoking new rounds, but it was a pleasant surprise. Several other die hard 9mm and 45 acp shooters bought their own 40;s after shooting mine.

Geez! When I opened this thread I did not expect to see it had gone to over one hundred posts! I have never understood the objections to .40SW. I have a 5-inch M&P that I really like, and a couple other .40s that I might say “are going nowhere.” I am not too keen on the .40 in a compact weapon, which seems like the logical place for 9x19, but a full-size gun holding 15 or 16 rounds of .40SW seems like a pretty formidable weapon to me. I certainly wouldn’t trade it for a like model in 9x19 that holds a couple more rounds.
