OK Here We Go, Let’s See Your Mods By guzzitaco

Awesome work, Guzz!

I really like those slide “scallops.” They give the gun a radical, almost futuristic, look.

I had 2 469's and 2 669's sitting in one of my safes . None are in pristine shape , so I had an idea , which can be dangerous at times . I contacted Guzzi and floated an idea , I'd send him one of each . I told him he could keep one if he gave the other his "Guzzi" treatment . He's sending it on Monday , but he sent some pictures . If I can find a holster , this would make one h*** of a carry gun . I have a couple of S&W 20rd mags that fit this , but it does stick out a little .

Some more pics of Cherrypointmarine's last build...

Slide is from a M6906 with a "curved" back. I added the red "point" on the slide, since there was none on the frame. Why a M6906 slide?...well, I wanted to have a better front sight option...(red dot was a later decision)

hope you guys like it
:)

Guzzi strike again. Converted a 5946TSW to DA/SA with front sight serrations, decocker only, action job and refinish. Did the same on a 4006, Alaska cuts, decocker only, action job, and blast. Man, he does great work! Next is my 4506

Let me bring this thread into the "way back machine". I won't prattle on about the looney gun laws up here in the Great White North, but suffice it to say if I want to wilderness carry it has to meet the criterion of "antique" pistol status. I have really good 1st. Mod.DA in .44 Russian but with the fingernail sight it shot high and left. I fabricated a new oversized foresight, took it to the range, and from a rest just kept removing material until I was impacting on point of aim. Here's a few pics of the process.

Squidsix built a two-tone 6915; by matting a 915 slide to a 6906. He scalloped the front of the slide to mimic a Browning HP. I bought it off him a few years ago!

I don't have any pictures maybe he'll see this and post some he took.

The man issn artist . We here on the forum are lucky indeed to have Guzzitaco and BMCM to work on our s&w's . I don't let anyone else touch my guns .

Besides doing great work, Guzzitaco is such a good man. His communication with us is awesome and I am honored to know the man. Will do everything to promote the man and his work. The only thing with more promotion of his work will our wait times will increase to get back our S&W🤣

I have to wonder whether it would be possible to persuade someone to make a run of replacement frames. There was a batch of stainless Mod 39 frames made up sometime in the eighties IIRC, so I know it can be done. It would be nice to keep the metal frame nine mms going for as long as possible. I put together my multi-slide Model 639 to be the last nine I would need.

It can be done, but it would require licensing from S&W and the BATFE, neither would be cheap. Those stainless aftermarket Model 39 receivers ran afoul of both requirements. Then there is the cost of actually making them. Add up all the costs and a new receiver might be almost as expensive as buying a whole Model 39-2.
