Trying to avoid the mistake of making a purchase and then learning a different -x version would have been a better buy...

I am considering buying a LNIB 4506-1, round trigger guard, silver hammer and trigger. I know the 4516 went on to have a -1, -2, and I think a -3. But for the 4606, is the -1 I described one of the desirable ones? Was there a -2, and if so, did it rememdy issues the -1 had?

Pls comment; I want to make a wise purchase!

Yes, the 4516 did go on to a "4516-3", I have one.

However, the 4506 and 4516 were not stamped as such. There were stamped 4506-1's and 4516-2's. No 4506's stamped as -2, or -3, and no 4516's stamped as -3. Rather there were revisions, revision 3 and revision 4. The revisions consisted of engineering improvements, such as the barrel tab, slide mods ect.

IMHO, the "best" or most "desireable" of the 4506's is the 4506-3, or revision 4. It has laser etched markings, and is simply etched "4506" above the trigger guard. The ones I've shot have had uniformly great triggers, and were very accurate. There is no such thing, IMHO, as an undesireable 4506, so I'm biased

Hope this helps! Regards 18DAI.

Thanks!

So are any of the improvements the post -1 models introduced important enough that you would pass on a -1 that was LNIB?

Ooops! I thought the most desireable 4506 was mine.
(4506 no-dash with the adjustable sights and hooked trigger guard)
Just kiddin'-sorta.

I think it all depends on what YOU want in one. I personally love the first run guns with the hooke trigger guard myself, made in 89' and no MIM parts.

If I recall correctly the late dash series guns with the black hammers and triggers had MIM parts in them.

First year production 4506 modified with re-contoured trigger guard and Novak sights which replaced the early production sights. The only pistol that out Glocks the Glock in reliability.

Is the 4506-1 more desirable than the 4506 no not in my opinion
