Is there a Smith and Wesson Hell?

S&W Hell

To me, S&W hell is knowing there is a huge sale on S&Ws only to be forced to shoe shopping with "She Who Must Be Obeyed"! (Imagine holding the purse while your friends are texting you with their great deals.....)

Seriously, I have never been there- am blessed wih a wonderful wife who allows me to indulge in my hobbies (guns & hunting)- but that is seriously my vision of "S&W Hell".

I agree w/ the OP- do with your revolver as you want. Its yours & you should be happy w/ it.

One Mean A** Model 19

Well Friends and Companions,

Here it is the freshly Parkerized Model 19-2. I took the original diamond grips off and saved them, then disassembled and degreased the revolver, glass bead blasted it, parkerized and oiled up last night. Today, reassembly, new stocks, and range time. Enclosed are the photos. One of my esteemed friends said that the darned thing looks really mean now and I should have "SUCK IT" or some other vulger statement engraved on the side.....(NOT GOING TO HAPPEN BUT STILL FUNNY THAT HE DID MENTION IT). I was really impressed that the parking took as nicely as it did and it is a matte finish but yet still has a smooth "shine" to it. I am really happy and plan on carrying this revolver for a very very long time.

Range report,
This m-19 is a very fine shooting iron. She really seems to love the 38 special +P+ Federal 147g Hydra Shoks. This revolver's action is glass smooth and the gun itself is very accurate.

Thanks!
Trey

Well, if'n I was to travel thru the place called Hell, I sure would like to have that 19 w/me:eek:. She turned out great and I had the same question about a re-finish I was thinking of doing, will contact the local gun guru tomarrow and ask when to drop off.:DRH

VERY Nice!

Shouldn't have been any question about it. Besides being your own piece, this finish should've been offered from the git on this model.
I have in possession a beautiful (function-wise) 2.5 inch 19-2. Unfortunately, it, a nice box-lock 20 ga. side by side, and a Marlin 39 were stored next to a water heater that developed a leak, and like a water magnet, all the moisture found it's way to the firearms before hitting the floor. The previous owner said his wife thought that was a good place for them......The 19 is heavily pitted, but the bore and guts are pristine, and smooth the way ALL revolvers should be.
An even, satin or subdued finish is entirely acceptable! Ya done good.

I wish to correct my previous comment.

The revolver is great as is. No criticism made or inferred.

That gun looks great! If you were closer I'd have you do some of my clunkers!

I dropped my K-38 off at the gun shop to have it sent out for some work. I got it 13 years ago at a gun show and it had been bead blasted and re-blued (maybe parkerized-hard to say), probably to correct an abused finish. Anyway, the young guy at the shop commented on what a fine looking gun it is. I guess when all you ever see is "tactical" weapons, it's hard to appreciate the old bright blue finish.

my thoughts exactly!

My S&W hell began when I bought my first S&W. Colts may be nice but they have that backwards cylinder release. Dan Wesson I own one and still I'm not sold on it.
The hell is nothing but S&W will do and I've been spending way too much money aquiring them.
