is there a smith and wesson that would be equivelant to the springfield xd 3", my Girfriend and I have narrowed the gun choses down to the xd 3" 9mm for her conceal carry,she is petite and has slight arthritice in the hands so she needs a light spring pull and we would prefer to stay in the 9mm range. we have rented the glock 17,springfield xdm, and springfield xd all in 9mm. she has also shot my sigma sw9ve several times but has to rest after just a few shoots as she has trouble pulling the trigger back. she has also dry fired my new 642 a few times but it is also to heavy for her. also would like the price range to be around the same as the xd.400.00 to 550.00.

you want a M&P9c, the compact M&P in 9mm. I've got both the full-size and the compact in .40S&W and I love them.

good choice with the Springfield XD. I have one in the .40 cal and 4" barrel. More features with the Springfield over the m&p. the new XDM is a fantastic gun. The NRA handgun of the year for 2009 was the Springfield XD. Good Luck
