Looks like Momma beat it regularly.
I'd adopt it in a minute though.

That's for states like California who don't allow pistol grips. If you notice the other one has the bullet button. Called so because you can't just release the mag. You need something pointy, like a bullet, to stick inside and then release the mag. It makes the mag "permanent."What is the part wrapping around the pistol grip and what is it for?
No its an AK ...... on steroids. Different caliber, same actionSome folks argue it's not but it sure looks so from the inside:

You can either have a regular mag release but no pistol grip or have the pistol grip but on a "permanent" mag
Seriously? Well, thanks for the answer. I guess it should be obvious what those are for but I live in a world where reality usually take precedence, and without mind-altering drugs, it's hard to conceive of such nonsense.
Makes you wonder if legislators that come up with these ideas are serious or if they have a brother-in-law who makes these add on parts?

It's not because of anyone's relationship. Those bullet buttons and pistol grip adapters can be bought online from many different manufacturers. Companies that sell firearms and are willing to ship to California will gladly add these for you before shipping. And the law wasn't made to sell them. In fact, these were invented to keep your otherwise illigal firearms

Your pics are way to dark to tell but is that sight on the dust cover or on a rail above the dust cover
Ok. Pics are better this time. In the others it looks like the sights were welded onto the top cover, which is an option out there, just not a very good oneNo, the sights are actually quite solid due to the design. The Sight is a solid metal piece that replaces the original rear recoil spring guide and actually attaches via the "T" slot used by the original recoil spring guide assembly.

Then, a new dust cover included with the sights is installed by depressing the two spring loaded retaining pins on each side of the rear sight, and sliding the dust cover holes over the pins to lock the cover in place.

And I really like them! I was just messing around today but the top group is 20 rounds of Tula SP ammo from 35ish yards, and on the shoot-n-see target is 5 rounds rapid fire at 50 yards. The sight picture is great, they zeroed easily, and I'm very impressed overall.
