Is There More News On VA Backround Check Failure?

Not that I know of but Blacksburg is where VA Tech is located and that may be the genesis for all the background check stuff.

This was a do nothing bill, and is a back door attempt at more gun control. It isn't needed, and wasn't passed. It was the 'system' that failed in the VA TECH shooting, not the background checks. There were those that knew the shooter was a loose cannon and did nothing. However-- if one or more of the victims been armed, maybe many of them would still be alive today. The entire media is blind to the fact that all these shootings take place in so-called 'gun free' zones. Will they ever wake up? No, they are too focused on their own agendas. Taking away the firearms from the solid people who want to protect themselves. This is MY opinion and does not reflect on the owners of this forum.

Here is a link to the NRA ILA site related to the gun laws that the idiots in our wonderful commonwealth are trying to force down our throats.

NRA ILA News for Virginia

The one that you posted about is (1/25):
Sponsored by anti-gun Senator Don McEachin (D-9), SB 520 would impose a “universal” background check through gun dealers for firearm transfers by criminalizing the private transfer of firearms outside of immediate family members, making it a Class 2 misdemeanor for a person who is not a licensed dealer to sell, rent, trade or transfer a firearm to any other person who is not a licensed dealer. (action postponed until Monday)

Updated:
SB 520 Firearm transfers; penalties.
