Its already +p.
No +P standard has been established by SAAMI. The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute establishes standards for critical dimensions and pressures for ammunition and the arms that use them.
Check your owners manual for ammunition specifications. If you don't have a manual, contact the manufacturer.

Sure there is a 40 S&W +P, it's called the 10mm...

"+P" sounds impressive, but it doesn't mean much until you specify which cartridge.
Kind of like "magnum" it really means "more than the parent cartridge."
The .40 S&W is speced about to the potential limit already, particularly in chambers that are not fully supported, which is most of them.

These guys list a +P .40 S&W but as stated there is no "offical or industry +P" in this caliber.

.40 S&W is a great caliber for defense. I see no good reason to head into the uncharted waters of non-SAAMI spec. +P ammo when so many great loads are available in standard pressure. If a person feels that .40 isn't enough, they should shift gears and go with a 10 mm, or a magnum revolver cartridge.
