My first range outing I zeroed at 25 yards and blew the center out. I actually got bored because it was too easy. On Wednesday I decided to back up to 50 yards. This was my last eight shots off a bench rest outdoors with some wind. The 10 ring on this target is 3"x 2". Optic is a Primary Arms MD-10 (no magnifier).

I don't know. How much wind is some wind?

That looks like my group when I'm standing, but I use a scope and I'm not familiar with the MD-10.

MD (Micro Dot) as in red dot sight. I would expect you to do better with a scope.

yes..Yes..YES! You did good. How long have you been shooting?

My Dad started me shooting competitive small bore at age 8 but up until the last two trips to the range, I hadn't shot in over 30 years. The Air Force wasn't big on marksmanship unless you were an MP :). Never fired a round in 5 years of active duty which was in the early 80's.

Up and down pattern, more so than left to right. Concentrate on your breathing my man.

Don't HOLD your breath, breathe normally and when you reach the natural pause in breathing at the end of an exhale or the end of an inhale (this one is better), stop breathing and squeeze the trigger.

You can tighten that up some. Left to right drift is usually from trigger PULL or JERK, and not squeeze...

Wasn't that. I learned that at a very young age.

That's cool, I don't know your level of knowledge with firearms. ESPECIALLY with that Air Force badge next to your name.

8*)

If you are familiar, then you should know that yes, this is a good/fair grouping at that distance in the circumstances you quoted. Hell, at least you got to shoot, I haven't even shot mine yet. Hopefully the wife gets tomorrow off and we both get to.

And I'm teasing about the AF thing. Thanks for your service.

Same to you and thanks for the help.
