Is your better half for or against conceal carry ?

No evil

My fiance is totally against guns. If I carried I'd have to move. Fortunately she understands my friend and I going to the range every Friday for practice.

After all, I've been shooting all my life and it's the one pleasure she lets me still have as long as she doesn't have to see the guns.

See no evil? Anyways hope you can change her opinion before you have kids.

Mine started from the position of it being an annoyance but has grown to the point of wanting it herself. I got mine in my hand 5 months after it became legal in Illinois. Carried every day since.

Thanks for all the replies !! I think the overwhelming response was on the positive side with almost all approving and many wife's carrying themselves which surprised me somewhat but was very happy to see.

There are some that disapprove or don't want to know but am glad to see those in that situation still carrying !! Keep positive in trying to change their minds ..

My wife grew up around guns but hunting and conceal carry is two different birds.. and after I got my CC she wasn't really happy that I had .. World events I think has helped change her attitude to where she understands the need for those that do !! I wish she would start shooting and would be interested in CC herself but she isn't and I am alright with that .

She knows if I would have to draw my weapon she is to move in a direction away from me to where it would be safe for her and we have even worked out some code words on her suggestion in case I would have to draw my weapon .. Words that would let me know someone was approaching and the direction without jeopardizing herself .. She will also start videoing the encounter as it happens .

I spent 34 years in Law Enforcement and we have been married for 51 years.. She knows I carry everytime I leave the house. last year, my wife wanted her own CCW permit, so she took the class and got her permit.. We both carry S &W 9mm Shields.. Kinda handy to have both weapons the same as we leave an extra magazine in each car and don't have to worry about if we brought the right magazine...

If my wife was the political opposite of me, she would not be my wife.

Lol likewise. It's funny to hear comments my 12yo makes, I try not to say too much in front of my kids politically, but I'm proud she seems to be voluntarily following in our footsteps.

She's pro-carry and was the driving force to obtain our current concealed weapons carry licenses in GA. She became a realtor about a year ago. The profession can be quite hazardous.

But she opted for a Walther CCP.

Mine is in favor, though she currently does not have a permit herself. Perhaps just as well, firey Irish temper.

We've been married since 1968 when I was a rookie cop, carrying off duty. While she does not like guns she does appreciate the fact I carry, and likes the fact that there is a .38 close by in the house for her just in case. On road trips we have an extra .38 snub for her, again just in case.

My wife is against it...except when she's for it. She will say "I hate it when you carry a gun around". Then, when we are in a less desirable part of town, she'll say "you'rw packing, aren't you"

I have been married to my wife for 25 years. I would characterize her as indifferent to guns for the first 23 years. She neither hated nor loved guns. When our boys wanted us to all go out and shoot she would shoot but she didn't have an interest in guns otherwise. She was never afraid of any of the guns and shot them reasonably well. When I wanted to purchase the boys .22s, hunting rifles or even their first pistols she was always agreeable. She just didn't have any interest herself.

In the last few years we have watched our sense of security erode away one riot or attack after another. I decided that I needed to take security into my own hands and told my wife it was time that I actually use my CCL and begin to carry. She agreed and stated that she thinks it is time she get her CCL and a CCW.

Even after 25 years they can still surprise us!
