It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing..

I would have probably paid the 12 bills if it checked out OK in person...But sight unseen, and adding in all the hidden fees?...Nope...:o...Ben

Looking at $1375-$1400 neighborhood OTD. Shipped.
I actually got in touch with the guy and told him he needed better photos.
This first came up for sale at 1800 bucks.
He dropped it immediately to 1400 and had no bids.
Then it was 1200 and I was very interested.. Would most certainly have had I not already been paying for one already.. With others in the offing.

It is missing from my collection, As is the 838 in nickel To complete my set of six 25-5s.
I don't have to explain the mindset of acquiring a completed "set".

Wow, those are some terrible pictures...

I've done well on a couple of auctions with poor pics and descriptions, but I wouldn't take that chance with a nickle gun.

I decided not to bid on a Smith last week... and it went for the lowest price I've seen on that particular model for some time. Oh, well. Maybe if I hadn't bought two rifles right before I saw the auction.... :p

I told the guy he should get better pics for a higher price.
From what I've seen, photos can make a 30% difference in price for what might appear to be the same thing.

That's not a bad price. I regretfully remember about 20+ years ago being at an auction where a NIB 25-5 4" was sold for $1000, and I thought that was crazy. Maybe the buyer was a little "early" on the price but not much.

15 years ago I found a nickel 4" Python complete with box on a local table for $900 . A few weeks earlier I had bought a 4" blue '68 Python for the same price off of gb. I passed on it because the missus didn't even know about the blue version…yet lol

The pics are sorry, they usually are on nickel except from top sellers. If advertised as new old stock unfired mint I would have been all over it if aware. Looks like it was shot and not cleaned but bad pics would do that. Surprised only one bidder. I never catch a break like that.

Mammoth camera shake on all the pictures. Pictures are everything for high end guns, and I agree that nickel guns are a pain to photograph. I put a nickel Colt Python Target in 38 SP on GB for a widow at work and was never happy with the pictures, despite using a camera. Guess I didn't do too bad as she still got nearly $1k out of it.
