IT'S ALMOST DONE!! SWISSMAN'S DESTROYED MODEL 53 IS BACK!! NOT 56k-modem-friendly

Swissman, I don't know what you do for a living, but with your level of ingenuity, intelligence and perseverance, you are bound to be successful.:) .........

Well done...

Thanks for this friendly comment. But my job on this project was easy. All I had to do was:

1. Blow up the orginal cylinder:mad:
2. Holding the nose constantly into the wind
3. Ordering the chamberreamer
4. Keep up the contact to my friends on both sides of the big pond for all the questions.
5. Looking good while testfiring the almost finished gun :D

The honor for this great repair belongs for sure not to me.It belongs to Mr. Bowen, who offers
this great and perfectly made blank cylinder,.....

... then for sure to the good friend who sent me one of this gems as a Christmas-gift (WOW!!)....

...and for sure to Dani who transformed all this into a great and accurate revolver. (it's the lower one)

Swissman this is the most interesting presentation on the model 53 that I have read on the forum so far, my model 53 is the second favorite revolver that I own with the 57's being the top. A very well done and informative post. Thanks Jeff

Great story and what a wonderful ending. Your photos are top shelf as always. Thank you for sharing this story.

It is stories like this that are the true essence of the shooting sports family.

Great story! Love the music in the video also... Kinda like showing some Swiss pride!

I have a 53 but don't have a .22LR cylinder. Didn't know Bowen made cylinders for the 53, so may give him a call.

Thanks again for the great story and PICTURES... we all know, a picture is worth a thousand words and the video made it that much better.

Excellent! A lesson for all of us.You have an outstanding S&W and a wonderful friend in Dani. You have created many good memories and thank you for sharing the story and the photos. I love these S&W projects that restore life in these old castaways. I, too, seek to restore those old guns that still have some life left in them.

Beautiful and outstanding machine work !! wonderful job !! Hat is off to everyone involved in that project!

It's great to see a nice revolver resurrected from an early grave. Congratulations sir, excellent post.
