I picked up my Model 59 today from the LPS. I had bought it on Gun Broker and the LPS handled the FLL. It came with matching box, extra mad, vapor paper. I was the only bidder - i was very surprised. Figured there would have been other bidders.

EDIT: also any idea when this one was made based on SN?

They are nice pistols. Yours looks like it's from 1973

Very nice example!

Care to share what she cost? Those of us who have them are hoping you got a good deal, but it would be nice to see the prices start to increase!

$475 on gunbroker + $30 shipping + $25 FFL + 7% tax

Very nice acquisition Doc. I carried one on the street for many years. Never once a misfire, mis-ejection, or fail to fire. Great safety features when in a fight. Clip drop and barrel detent. First tried the Model 39 which was a disaster. In my opinion the Model 59 is one of the finest ever made. I'd bet my life on it and did. I carry it today as my CCW. Congratulations.

Good find LSU, you will love it. Be sure to post a range report, best of luck and enjoy your new toy.

Very nice, I picked one up a few months ago and it is a great shooter, I rotate it with my S&W1911 as my daily carry. Mine came with the rubber sleeve on the grip with the finger grooves, and after shooting it with and without I find it much nicer shooting with the sleeve. My 59 will eat any type ammo I feed it without fail, I carry it with 147gr. GDHP I have found this ammo to be the most accurate in my pistol, and Gold Dot is a proven hollow point round.
