Colt Police Positive cylinder diameter~1.4 inch
S&W K Frame cylinder diameter~~~~1.45 inch
May not seem like a lot, but it is in a pocket. There is also about the same difference in the frame size. Cylinder is shorter, frame height is shorter, total length of frame is shorter. The difference with a 4 inch barrel on S&W 64, and Colt PPS is about 3/8 inch even though they have the same barrel length.
It could be that Colt made the new Cobra larger, but if not the Cobra would clearly be more pocketable than the K frame with the same barrel length.
Yup, cylinder diameter is the same, also if the grip frame is the same as the late production Detective Special boot grips would be considerably shorter than round but K frame. Also keep in mind Colt double actions are timed like tuned single action fast draw revolvers, this is what creates the bank vault lock up when the trigger is fully pulled. Without the slower timing, and same lock up, the trigger would have no play past the sear, making the gun non operable. Colts were not designed for slow fire, but even if they are the lockup is completed the moment the trigger is pulled.

I think mine is fine in single action. But in DA I get lead spitting out the side and terribly off center primer strikes. And a gunsmith told me it was out of time.... I'm pretty sure it's out of time.
Everything has it's upsides and downsides. I like my 442 but it's not without it's faults. When I'm working on shooting from the draw and shooting at speed, I'm not always super aware of my right thumb and the takedown lever has more than once drawn blood. I don't really mind, but it's kind of annoying. Although my daughter looked at me like I was bad to the bone because it didn't really phase me when we were shooting last time. So I think I got tough points. It really doesn't hurt that much. But I'm a little worried about it getting infected when it happens. Half the time there is black stuff that stays in the skin for a while. LOL.

And yeah, the 5 rounds makes me always wishing for more......
