It's ruined!

There are politicians here who want to do that to us.
I am so sorry for you.

Have a pint.

they're ALREADY doing it!! where do you think all those parts kits come from? hint: police confiscation...take a look and see WWII's lugers,P-38's 1911's and many more

"Ruined"? I don't understand. Doesn't "deactivated" mean ruined?

I am sorry for your loss. We all have to put up with atrocities, in one way or another. Fortunately, for us we have 49 other options to chose. My son did not like our gun laws so he moved to a gun friendly state. Too bad it was a tornado state and his first year he leaned what a tornado can do to a house.

My dad was from Mexico. I remember him saying,"It's all knives down there."

He even taught me a number of tricks.;)

It used to be that way, but narcotraficantes are now armed to the teeth with fully automatic weapons. I'm originally from Cuba, and in 1969 I lived in the DF for three months while waiting on an American visa to enter the US legally. I was 15, and by myself. Did not see my parents for 10 years and haven't been back to Cuba in 55 years. Grew up here in the good ol' USA and I'm now 70 years old.

I have good Mexican feiends who used to drive over to Mexico once a year and take American consumer goods to their families, but it's gotten to the point that they have stopped driving over with gifts because armed bandits set up road blocks and when they see that American license plate, they ask for a "toll" to let them through. It used to be one road block; now two and three road blocks are common.

That's the problem with gun control. In countries say under a Communist dictatorship like Cuba; only the military and police can own guns. In free countries like in the UK, only criminals own guns freely. And to answer someone else's comments, if a hoodlum or a terrorist breaks into your house and you shoot him with your hunting shotgun, YOU (the law abiding citizen fearing for his family's safety) is the one in trouble with the law; not the bad guy. Isn't that crazy?

Winston Churchill is rolling over in his grave.

I believe Winston Churchill was speaking of Nazi Germany subjugating Great Britain; not, individual freedoms like gun ownership in the U S.--even though his mother was American, from Brooklyn, NYC.

Between 1900 and 1964, Churchill was a member of Parliament, and to my knowledge, during all those years in Government he did not advocate adopting anything like our 2nd Amendment. The British government, to which he belonged, was responsible for the British people's lack of personal weapons should Germany invade England.

It doesn't matter where you live in this world, the answer is not removing guns from the people, it's removing hate from the heart. And remember, ANY government will commit "industrial murder" on disarmed people, given the "right" reason. Joe

I am well aware of Churchill and historical facts. And I seriously doubt that Churchill ever imagined British citizens being disarmed by their government. Or those citizens willingly turning over their firearms.

The French citizens were eventually able liberate their country from the Nazis because those citizens were armed. I don't think Churchill could have imagined what is now going on in Britian and Europe in his wildest dreams, or nightmare.

And there is a great reason why former Soviet controlled countries such as Hungary and the Czech Republic allow and encourage firearm ownership. That reason being they have been there, done that, with regards to living under extreme Government oppression. And they are not in any sort of hurry to ever go through that again.

rickyt; I spent a couple years in NE England, RAF Sculthorpe, Fakenham, Norfolk County, back in the 1960-1962 time frame. There was a gun club on base, and we could buy "some" guns, but must be maintained on the club premises unless in use.

I really enjoyed my time there and traveled in the area, quite a few trips to Hunstanton and Kings Lynn and Norich.

I recently saw on-line a video of the base condition at Sculthorp, and it had been defaced all over and trashed since the U S moved out. What a shame.

@ H Richard, good to hear you spent some time in the UK and liked it , you wouldn't like it now. Yes , you could buy pistols in the UK but in 1993 when the chap in Scotland shot the kids in the school at Dunblane, that ended pistol ownership. You can still hold pistols on license ,non firing at home or firing kept at the gun club. It's also getting very hard to get shotgun certificates and FAC (firearm certifs).

The Police/Gov dont really want people to own guns anymore. All to do with crime. There is a ban going on now for certain makes of blank firers. You have to hand them in or face a prison sentence.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the UK, but I really dislike their restrictive firearms laws. With WWII and Germany so close by, firearms ownership, and pistol ownership should be commonplace.

It wasn’t a far stretch for me to have lived there indefinitely. Many decades ago I was in North Wales and seeing a local girl, but her father ended the relationship, not because he disliked me, but because he feared me whisking her back to the States, never to see her again. His exact words: “I’ll not ‘ave a bloody Anerican.” Little did he know that I really had nothing keeping me in the States at that time (1994) and I would have gladly remained in Gwynedd.

Hard lesson

It’s a hard lesson to learn.
They tolerate you in their country only as long as you are willing to die for their cause, leave your money there, build them a huge multi billion dollar Military base with top drawer facilities paid for by our tax dollars, and then kick us out without even a thank you when the treaty expires!
We are suckers in this country. Pointing the finger at the UK when It’s happening at our own border and border cities. It’s a war in California that I’ve fought my entire life! My ENTIRE LIFE!
What kind of help do we get here from all you HEROS from other states?
We don’t sell anything to California! Not even a book or gun catalog! How dumb is that! Makes me sick!
If you have a brain you should send everything you can here!
We are Americans fighting for the second amendment and YOU ARE HELPING THE ENEMY!
We aren’t even asking for freebies! It’s the stupidest thing I have ever seen in my life! I hate California so I’m not selling to them! YOU SIR ARE AN IDIOT!

Actually many, if not most, of us are members of and contribute to pro-gun organizations. With ammo restricted and many guns banned in your state, it is no wonder that so many are California shy to deal with such draconian laws and risk so much by maybe overlooking the fine print. The anti-gunners and socialists are so entrenched in California it is unlikely that things will soon or ever return to a point of sanity and freedom. I wonder how long it will be until you are burdened by the tyranny of our UK friends?

60/40

I’ve lived here my entire life except for my time in the military.
I’m well versed in the gun laws of this State. The truth is the California rifle and pistol organization is Constantly suing and overturning the left on every front. What you may think are the laws have actually been overturned or are at present in Federal court as unconstitutional! That includes what you are calling ammo restrictions and gun restrictions. All presently being fought in court. I get constant emails from cal rifle and pistol.

We make constant headway and the lefty 9th circuit court unfortunately allows appeals when we win that are unconstitutional. We then take it to the Federal level and win often! So Active lawsuits are constant and anti gun laws here are constantly overturned. So what you are reading is old news. They are often only temporary.
Now that we have a strong 2nd Amendment rep in the White House we will see even stronger support. So the position that California is losing its 2nd Amendment rights is uninformed pure nonsense.

Also the truth is it’s 60/40 in this State. 40% of the population are very conservative and support the second amendment and fighting very hard. So any other position is a non truth and gross exaggeration.

We have many open ranges that allow hunting and target shooting. Duck hunting, Turkey hunting, Deer and pig. Even Elk in the valley. Many target ranges of which I am a member of 5. They all support active membership in large numbers and the ranges are clean, well built, and heavily supported by members. Huge numbers of trap and skeet members that are avid bird hunters.

So you are dreaming if you think this State is losing on the 2nd Amendment and gun ownership. All of BLM land allows target shooting and all of National Forrest with the exception of Yosemite valley also allows shooting and hunting. That constitutes millions of acres!

Out of State folks think they know everything about California gun laws. The truth is they are changing almost daily because we never stop fighting in court because they are all unconstitutional! And the vast majority are eventually overturned!

The UK wants to lay down and cry that’s their problem.

I'm still laughing at the concept that the closure of US bases in the UK was done at the behest of the UK. BRAC was a big thing for both countries post-1992, to save money. The US got out of many bases overseas because Congress didn't want bases closed in the US.

No way could I live there. Family or not.
The accelerated demographic changes and “wokeness” taking place there are destroying and criminalizing your traditional culture and remaining freedoms.

I came here in '97 for a 2-3 year job. Even after 6-7 years of that job (!!) I still had extended family asking, "What will you do when you come back?" Then after another 5 or 6 years it became, "You know what, stay where you are. You wouldn't like it here anymore." Color me shocked.

I've visited a couple of times in recent years, and much of the UK isn't the same in many ways. The death of small/medium town retail is the thing I noticed most. That said some spots are clearly stuck in a time warp.
