Ivories....post them up...and what does the good stuff really look like?

Quite a thread, great photos that I keep going back to. Mike how bout breaking out the nice stuff ! Kidding!! Sure would like a couple close ups of the Lightweights cylinder pin lock, a very cool feature that's nearly hidden in the pic.
Here are a couple #5 latches, first one by Bowen the second by Harton:

Here are two pair of ivories, one scrimshawed and one carved.

The carved pair came on Bill Jordans presentation model 19, from Rex Applegates estate auction in 1999. A similar pair of stocks was on a model 57 in the same auction.

The scrimshawed pair came from DJ's Loan and Sport in Bothell WA, sometime in the mid 1990's. They were in a box of grips that was under one of the counters!

I've posted this before, but I'd like to play along. Mammoth on this 1911

Bonus points is that this gun finished off a whitetail buck this year

My 17-4 with some ivories. Dad gave me the 17 many years ago, and the ivories were made when my brother was stationed in Cameroon. Dad sent some S&W grips over and the folks over there roughed up some grips, inherited them when Dad passed and had them finished up and grip screws installed by fine gentleman out of Wyoming whose name escapes me at the moment. One of my favorites rig because of the memories, thanks Dad, RIP.
