Hi All,
Finally brought home the 651-1. It has a very heavy D.A. trigger pull. I've researched J Frame springs but don't know if the recommendations will be different for rimfire.

Any recommendations for this would be appreciated. Thx...c good

Wilson, Apex and Wolff all offer spring kits for the j-frame. Basically a coin flip as to your preference.

I would not use the gun for personal defense after the swap unless you test it thoroughly. Spring kits can leave the gun unreliable, particularly when the revolver is dirty, or when the elements are harsh. (aka: cold)

Since we are talking a rimfire .22 here with an internal firing pin. I would hesitate to monkey with the mainspring at all. You can play with a lighter one, but you may suffer light firing pin strikes.

I think the factory rebound spring is 16 pounds, and the sweet spot is 13 pounds. Any lighter and you will notice the slowed action.

Wolff has been my go to springs and I have never had a bad one.

I have attempted using a reduced main spring set up, kept getting light strikes, reverted back to factory.

Changing out a rebound spring utilizing the...think it was Wilson spring kits...that have 3 spring weights in one package worked well.
I went down to 12lbs spring but didnt like it. The 13lb and 14lb were good to go. I settled on the 14lb and noticed a great improvement
