J frame OWB?

Like Haywood I mainly pocket carry my j's especially in shorts here in Arizona but that said I also do owb,iwb and ankle carry depending on the situation. All are possible and easy with a j and the right holster.

Back a while turnerriver found a treasure trove of Chic Gaylord and
Seventrees holsters, and he let me have the Chic Gaylord speed scabbard.
I carry my Model 642-1 in it very often. On the left.

2nd from left is a black sharkskin pancake by Rudy Lazano at Black Hills
Leather. I like it too.

3rd from left is a little Safariland Model 16 that I also like.

4th from left, when I wear an inside waistband, it is this
Delfatti with a sharkskin mouth.

5th when driving my choice is Ken Null's VAM shown with
my 642-1.

I carry a 642 in a pocket holster only. I'm a fat southpaw and it's a pain in the butt to find a decent owb holster for that or my 19 2.5".

I carry a 642 in my right pocket in a sticky holster. In the car I also carry my 36 3" on my left hip in cross draw fashion owb.

When I used to carry my M60-7 I used a Kramer Horsehide OWB Scabbard. IMHO it's the best out there! Now I use a Kramer OWB Scabbard for my Sig P365 along with a Horsehide belt and mag pouch. Just awesome!

Probably one of the most overlooked advantages of the J frame is the multiple methods of carry versus other guns.

I carry mine IWB, OWB, and pocket carry. They all work.

I am in this camp. Mostly pocket carry but depending on activities such as driving will switch to IWB or OWB if working on the farm. Sometimes I am too lazy to open the safe and get out a larger revolver for OWB.

It's hot here right now. I went to have dinner with a friend. J frame went in my pocket. His Glock 17 stayed in the trunk. J frame: always here, always ready.

FYI for you J framers, there is a Ken Null Vampire holster for sale at an excellent price in the classifieds. It's a horizontal crossdraw, excellent for when sitting down or driving. I'd buy it, but my one J-frame is a 640-1, which is ever so slightly bigger than other J-frames, and I am sure the Null holster is a tight fit.

I pocket carry a 340PD in a Blue Force Gear pocket holster.

always OWB for me

51 plus years of concealed carry. Model 36, then Model 60, then Model 637-2 for last 20 plus years. Always Smith & Wesson quality leather (when they were made in Lillington, NC). Always strong side 4:00 o'clock on Galco stiff quality gun belt. The combination (1-1/4" Galco for dress slacks/suits - 2" for khaki, blue, black dress jeans). Speed strip in pocket for extra rounds.

Sometime back I came into a S&W M&P 2.0 Compact which turns out to be a real sweet carry gun, and I found out it fits my SafariLand GLS holster (bought for a Glock 21 Gen 4) like a glove, so now I'm trying to practice at least weekly with the 2.0 & Safariland combo to get where I feel really comfortable with the 2.0 as EDC.

Never really experienced any serious printing problems with any of the combinations above.
