To put it simple....is it possible to improve the trigger on a J Frame Rimfire (example 351c/351pd or a 43c)

Thanks!!!

You can do a "fluff and buff" but spring replacement can be iffy. Rimfires are real sensitive to that. Apex sells a J-frame spring kit. I put one in a M638 and really like it. The kit cost around $30 delivered. You could always try it.

I just went through this with my new 351c. Got the 351c 317 specific spring kit from Wolff. Installed new mainspring and rebound spring. 50% fail to fire rate. Dealer that sold me the kit said to only change the mainspring. Leave stock rebound spring. Tryed that. Now 30% fail to fire rate. Gave up and put it back the way it came from the factory. Now 0% failures. I would leave it the way it is unless you have a competant gunsmith smooth the inards of the gun.

If "improve" means to make smoother and consistant, then maybe edging into probably. If "improve" means radically lighter in weight , probably not.

Just trying to smooth - will consider a "fluff and buff"

Next Question - how save is it to dry fire a 351c using 22lr snap caps?

Thanks again for the feedback!!!

Yes, j frame 22 triggers can be vastly improved by a good gunsmith.

This is not do it yourself stuff. You want a gunsmith who has done hundreds.
