was at the J & rifle ranch in Turner, MT late 60's or early 70's---can't remember for sure--Joe DeSaye ? owner ? anyway, one heck of an expeirence !! sure was fun tho !

I got hitched the first time in 1978, and it seems like I was making around $5.00 an hr in construction. Times were tough, and about to get tougher. I couldn't afford a gun back then, without a side job, and bought used then. I recall paying $50 bucks for a Ruger

Moved to Houston about 1980 or so, just to have steady work. Interest rates were in the upper teens IIRC. I bought my first new gun while in Houston, a satin nickle Colt 45, seems like it was over $400 bucks back then. A Gold Cup was double.
It was another 10 years before I got my first S&W. $199 for a 66-1 police trade in. Still have that one, the others are long gone.
