How do you clear a jam in a 5906? Live round in gun, and cannot pull slide back to eject help, what can I do

Point gun in a safe direction and keep your finger away from the trigger guard. Then hold the slide as tightly as you can behind the ejection port with your palm on one side of the slide and your fingers on the other side using your support hand.
Then take your dominant hand and slam it forward on the rear of the grip making sure you grasp the gun with the dominant hand at the moment of impact so as not to drop the gun. This technique has worked for me. . Be sure to keep the gun pointed in a safe direction, keep your finger away from the trigger and don't drop the gun.

One other thing which might help is to cock the hammer before doing the procedure described. Also, have you tried just firing the round ?

Is the magazine out of the gun? That can prevent the slide from coming back sometimes with a live round "stuck" in the chamber.

You can also try putting the front edge of the slide against a bench (edge of slide only; not any part of the barrel or frame; use some padding to not scratch the gun) and then tap on the back of the grip with a rubber mallet.

I agree with WaterburyBob on removing the mag because it will be easier and if the 5906 still has the magazine safety it will make this job safer.
