Jeremy Clarkson

lets see ... BBC dropped the ball and jumped the shark with Sherlock, then they sack Clarkson, killing TopGear ... Now comes the question ... does BBC have any remaining relevancy at all?

I hope HBO backs a lorry up to each of their homes and disgorges money until they agree to do another show.

Well without Clarkson Top Gear is done with me, that's a shame.

I understand that the UK Police have now requested the BBC's file on the incident. Unfortunately it's not looking good for Jeremy he could do jail time for assaulting that rat. Anyone that can't take a punch without calling the cops is a pathetic individual in my book.

Without Clarkson, Hammond and Mays, the magic of the show is gone. Their relationship and interaction is what made the show a hit. Clarkson did many of the scripts and came up with ideas. Since about 2001, it was pretty much his show.

It's gone. All things must end. I don't doubt BBC will try to hang on to their moneymaker, but they should have known the results of dropping Clarkson. Hopefully, they won't attempt to embarrass themselves or insult their fans by continuing the show.

The producer did not call the cops. He has so far refused to speak with them. The police started their own enquiry. Clarkson even commented that he wished people would leave the producer alone, that it "wasn't his fault."

Ok I stand corrected. Someone asked me yesterday about Toyota diesel pickups and I came across The Top Gear "How to Kill a Toyota" on You Tube. It's hilarious :)

Good show. Not great, but good.

Clarkson is a typical arrogant, know-it-all Brit. I go there often and they're all over the place. Most of them, though pompous, are not quite as arrogant or loud-mouthed as Clarkson.

Writers have described him as a 6'5" bully for many years (decades actually) - and so he, apparently, is. And they tired of his nonsense and fired him.

I think the BBC agrees with me; it's a good, not great, show that can be easily replaced with interesting, non-bully, "talent". Everybody is replaceable.

I saw several WWII documentaries done and narrated by Clarkson. Excellent work, showed a distinct other side to the persona he plays/played on Top Gear. TV roles may or may not show the actual personality of the person in that role. I do agree with Mays assessment of Clarkson's persona on Top Gear-at least when dealing with H&M.

From what I was reading before this thing blew up, the BBC just ended their top grossing and most popular show. Supposedly, contracts were signed for all 3 through 2018 prior to what has recently come out.

Have to agree, the premise of the show and the interactions between the 3 guys make the show quite interesting. Very unlike the US version-which should be shown at 0300, they could fill the commercial slots with PSAs.
