John kennedy assassination question

The most totalitarian regimes in the world can't even keep their misdeeds a secret - they are all eventually found out.

But the truth about this has been kept under wraps for over 50 years?

S-u-u-u-u-u-u-r-e it has...

The Kennedy assassination was fifty-five years ago. Over a half-century. The "Information Age" had not yet really begun. Instant access to information was a pre-Internet pipe dream. But the secrets will "eventually" be found out? How long is "eventually"? This was the height of the Cold War. There were so many clandestine things going on, I doubt anyone knew the full extent of them.

If you don't think there are still secrets regarding the murder of JFK, then what's your explanation for all the still-redacted information in documents relating to the assassination? If you don't believe there are still secrets, you're probably still living in that fantasy world created by the Warren Commission.

Do I subscribe to every cockamamie conspiracy theory out there? No, of course not. No one with any sense would. Do I believe things are still hidden from us? Most definitely, and I don't believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the planning and execution of the assassination of our 35th president.

And aliens? Holy COW, I won't even touch that one!

No one's asking you to touch it, especially me. I simply threw it out there as an example. Figured it was good for a grin.

Is it any surprise someone that far "out there" ended up in a fatal confrontation with the law?

Not really, no...no surprise. But to reiterate, his death at the hands of law enforcement had nothing to do with his conspiracy theories or political ideology. It was the result of his refusal to surrender when an arrest warrant for tax evasion was being served on him. Plus, there may have been a bit of payback involved on the part of Apache County deputies, since Cooper had already shot one of them in the head before they killed him.

As far as his being "out there" goes, he wasn't any more loony than Alex Jones, George Noory, or the recently deceased Art Bell. The world's crawling with crackpots.

Been to a range lately?

I wonder why firearms draw so many kooks.

Agreed on all counts - except for the part about Oswald not acting alone.

I've read multiple books on the subject and so far none have convinced me. Too many people would have to have been involved for all of them to remain silent for over 50 years (55 years ago is "over 50 years ago" BTW, and it actually won't be 55 years until November 22 IIRC). Do I think the Warren Commission Report was 100% correct? Probably not. But I still can't buy any of the conspiracy theories either. Pretty much any documents you request from the government through the FOIA will contain redactions. That doesn't prove anything as far as I'm concerned.
