Hand beats holster?please explain this also.Almost every time:
... Spence brought in two revolvers and loaded them with blanks. He gave one to Jordan, who put it in a holster. He gave the other to a deputy sheriff, loaded and cocked. He instructed the deputy to point the gun at Jordan and fire as soon as the older man started for his gun. After a few moments, Jordan drew and fired. The deputy's mouth dropped open as he stood there holding the unfired gun...

The name I was referring to was Thell Reed, took some time but I found it.
There was a Twilight Zone about Rance Magrew who played sheriff on tv and annoyed Jesse James so much he came back and told him to smarten up or else. Mentioned the Dalton's and the Kid etc.
One was open range when costner shoots the gunhand without batting an eye on a stand down on the street.
Dennehy was my favorite character in Silverado followed closely by Scott Glenn. The 80s were pretty much a dead period for westerns in TV or movies, but I always thought Dennehy would have been great in more of them. He was in "Butch & Sundance: The Early Years" I think it was called. But he wasn't cool like in Silverado.Your eyes picked that then you saw the same flaw in Silverado, Costner back to the camera and double draw on the bad guys, both shots go to ground, for a bad guy methinks Dennehy ran away with it in manner and dress.
